Penelope, Homer's Oddessy

In book two of Homers The Odyssey, a fierce debate springs up between Telemachus and Penelopes suitors. The two parties argue mainly over Penelopes future and her refusal to either reject every last(predicate) the suitors or remove ane as her spouse. However, all throughout the debate, no hotshot stops to ask Penelopes opinion or even stops to ponder the fact that she might expect a say in the outcome of her future. Women living in ancient Greece such as Penelope had few rights and were viewed tight as property. However, if Penelope rejected all the suitors for Odysseus without knowing that he was dead, her substantial ground would be left without a competent male person principle and would inevitably fall into ruins. Yet another puzzle that the suitors reach to Penelope is the destruction of her home. In their impatience to look for her c hoice, they subvert upon her property and p! rivacy, eating her food, crisping her wine, and slaughtering her livestock. Too cowardly to demonstrate themselves at her fathers house, for Icarius to make terms for his misss hand with the claimant he prefers, they spend all day in and out of [Penelopes] house.
